Classes

We have a variety of options available for your cutest new doggy friend such as our Puppy Walk round the farm to meet the farm animals, or six week Puppy Training Course in basic commands and good manners.

We also offer New Puppy Home Visits (within certain radius from the Centre) to help settle your puppy into their new home.

For your pup's welfare, we only allow them to attend classes once they are fully vaccinated.

Puppy Training Course - Junior (under 5 months)

An eight week course of basic training for puppies under five months of age at the start date

Puppy Training Course - Senior (5 - 10 months)

An eight week course of basic training for puppies between five and ten months at start date.

New Puppy Home Visit

Have one of our trainers visit you and your puppy at home to help with any training or behaviour advice

Follow-On Training Course

An eight week course for dogs of any age to improve basic skills taught in either Puppy (Jnr or Snr) or Adolescent/Adult Beginner Course either at our Centre or elsewhere

Agility For Beginners

An eight week basic dog agility training course for dogs who have no previous agility experience

Agility Follow on

An 8 week course for dogs that have had some agility training and are familiar with all agility equipment

Farm Walk

A fun walk around our farm for dogs and puppies.

TrickTastic

An 8-week trick training course for dogs six months and over that have attended a basic training class either here or elsewhere.  This course will put in place all of the training necessary to join out TrickTastic - Advanced class using both indoor and outdoor facilities.  It is suitable for all the family, including children and the course will be tailored to suit the requirements and safety of different breeds/sizes/ages/physical capabilities of the dogs.  You will learn how to set your dog up for success, overcoming barriers to learning, clicker and marker training, working with a target


Agility Taster Session

An opportunity to have a go at agility.  This one-hour taster session is sure to be fun for both you and your dog!

Dogs must be at least seven months of age and have a good recall.


Hoopers Taster Session

An opportunity to try Canine Hoopers. This one-hour taster session consists of ground-level hoops and tunnels for your dog to run through. It has the same pace and excitement as agility but is a low impact form of agility consisting of hoops, tunnels and barrels making it perfect for all dogs, including those that are older and less mobile while still allowing them (and you!) to have fun.

Dogs must be at least six months of age and have a good recall.

All breeds and sizes welcome.

Not suitable for dogs unable to cope in a class environment.

Tricks Taster Session

An opportunity to try trick training. This one-hour taster session consists of fun and easy tricks to teach your dog to see if it is something you and your dog enjoy!

Dogs must be at least six months of age, all breeds and sizes welcome.


Scentwork - Cloves

  • Six-week course suitable for all ages and breeds
  • This class will only be working with cloves
  • No previous scentwork experience necessary
  • Each class is one hour long with a maximum four dogs per class
  • As a training activity, scentwork is fun, very rewarding and at the same time mentally tiring for your dog.

Rally - Level 1

Rally - Level 1

Information about Rally from the Kennel Club website:

Rally is the very latest dog sport to be recognised by the Kennel Club.  It's fun and no matter what level you and your dog may be at it's easy to get involved and start training and competing.

Rally involves you and your dog working as a team to navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform; think of it as a sort of 'obedience exercise obstacle course' including simple exercises.


Kids Club

A class for child handlers between the ages of 5-16 years, covering tricks, obstacle courses, scentwork and general training

First Aid Workshop

Four and a half hour Dog First Aid Workshop by qualified Veterinary Nurse 

  • How to stem bleeding by applying a pressure bandage
  • Practical bandaging on real dogs - paws, head and ears
  • Identify the signs of poisoning
  • To understand the emergency of a gastric torsion (twisted gut)
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • How to deal with choking
  • What to do if your dog is having a seizure
  • Includes; course notes, certificate of attendance and refreshments.

Recall Workshop

Does your dog struggle with coming back when called?  This workshop will specifically focus on creating a reliable recall. Covering:


Loose Lead Walking Workshop

Does your dog pull on the lead as if you aren't even there? Are you fed up of your dog walking you rather than you walking them? This workshop will focus on training your dog to walk beautifully on a loose lead and help you to enjoy your walks. Covering:


Tricks & Games Workshop

  • A fun filled two hour workshop designed with the whole family in mind including children, suitable for any age of dog and handler, but the handler must be able to control the dog. 
  • All children under the age of 16 must be supervised by an adult. 
  • You will learn fun games and tricks to wow your family and friends with, keep your dog mentally stimulated and improve your relationship with your dog.

 


Noise Phobia Workshop

  • A two-hour talk with our resident Behaviour Consultant, Fiona Whelan, a member of the Canine & Feline Behaviour Association on all aspects of noise phobia and the distress this can cause your dog.


Scentwork Workshop

An introduction to Scentwork to see if it is something you and your dog enjoy.  Suitable for any age and breed and is run by one of our fully qualified Scentwork UK Trainers - Sarah Gibbs & Kelly Steel.

Each workshop is one hour and a maximum of two dogs per workshop.


Trick & Treat Workshop

This one-hour Halloween themed workshop consists of fun and easy tricks to teach your dog. Perfect for children to come and enjoy during half term.

Price is per dog with a maximum of two handlers per dog.

An opportunity to try Rally to see if you enjoy it!

 


Clinical Canine Massage Therapy

Clinical Canine Massage Therapy can increase joint flexibility, promote relaxation and assist with pain management.

It can also help to increase exercise performance and assist with post-operative healing and recovery.

If you have a dog suffering with stiffness, lameness, is generally slowing down or has a reduced ability to do normal activities of daily living such as being groomed etc, this could well help.

Improvement can be seen in as little as 1-3 sessions. Each session is approximately 45-60 minutes


Skype - Training Consultation

Are you having specific problems with your dog that need addressing? A Skype consultation may be a viable option at the current time. These one-to-one sessions are tailored to suit the exact needs of you and your dog with one of our qualified and experienced trainers. Sessions may be a ‘one off’ or you can continue with as many sessions as you require in your own timescale.

Typical problems that can be discussed in a Skype consultation are;

For those who have only one or two specific problems on which they want to concentrate or if committing to a weekly class is just not practical, then private lessons may be a more viable option.
